| Introducing participants to a range techniques for producing
richly textured, mixed colour back ground 'Sedimentary' &
'Stain' washes, using artist quality pigments - suitable for producing
dynamic backgrounds for use in painting or calligraphy. We explore
the chemistry of the pigments and how they interreact with one
another & methods of applying the washes so they precipitate
in layers on the paper to produce a variety of textures &
effects in a variety of shades of colour. After learning &
practising the laying of various washes small individual projects
will be planned by participants & executed as a finished piece
so they leave the course with the information & technical
knowledge & practise necessary to enable them to continue
to producing exciting pieces on their own. |
